Solution Story · AI-Native Product Design

AI that suggests. A person who decides.

Most products add an AI button. This one was rebuilt around a harder idea: AI can draft something as personal as your life's purpose statement — as long as the person shapes it, refines it, and walks away feeling it's theirs. Because it is.

The design problem

The blank page is where self-reflection dies

Ask someone to "write your purpose statement" and you get paralysis — it's the hardest blank page there is. Hand them a fully AI-written one and you get something worse: polished words they feel nothing for. The product's central design challenge was the space between those failures: AI as a thinking partner, not a ghostwriter.

What we built

Assistance woven through the whole product

The purpose journey is the flagship moment, but the same pattern — generate, review, own — runs everywhere.

Every AI feature draws from the same personal context — and every output goes back through the person's hands.

Refinement is the product

"Make it better / more creative / expand it" aren't extras — they're the mechanism that turns a draft into ownership. The user iterates until the words feel true, and engagement data agrees: the loop is where belief forms.

Cold start, solved politely

New users hate forms. A photo and a LinkedIn URL generate a rich starting profile — which better recommendations (volunteering matches, task ideas) immediately reward.

Assessments make it personal

Personality and strengths assessments feed the suggestion engine — so two people choosing the same values still get suggestions that fit who they each are.

Why it matters

The same philosophy, from invoices to identity

In our finance projects, AI reads and humans approve. Here, AI drafts and humans own. Different stakes, same principle: the machine accelerates, the person authors.
